De ALFA projectpartners bevinden zich in zes stroomgebieden:
Eden (Groot-Brittannie), Emscher (Duitsland), Kleine Nete (Belgie), Maas (Nederland), Rijn (Duitsland) en Seine (Frankrijk).
In de partnerregio's zijn diverse maatregelen en investeringen gepland om deze stroomgebieden tot een veiliger en gezonder woon- en werkgebied te maken.

The Hördt floodplain reserve retention area is part of the differentiated system of flood protection in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany.
