The Kleine Nete catchment belongs to the Scheldt river basin and is situated in Flanders, the northern region of Belgium. The project area is just upstream of the city of Herentals. It is known as Hellekens, a 15 ha old sand disposal area on the left bank of the river Kleine Nete. Due to excavation activities of a nearby canal and disposal of the ground, the soil surface was raised by 3 metres above the historical valley level. More information
