Opening of the Thacka Beck Flood Alleviation Scheme,

On 5 August, the Environment Agency officially opened a new £5.6 million flood alleviation scheme which reduces flood risk from Thacka Beck - the watercourse which runs underneath Penrith’s streets.

The second edition of the family event ´KomeNete´
In cooperation with her partners the Regionaal Landschap Kleine en Grote Nete organised the second edition of ´KomeNete´ in Herentals. This family event around the water courses of the regional landscape took place on the 21st of August. The Flemish Environment Agency, partner in this event, used this opportunity to show her fish pass and the new ALFA pedestrian passages on the Kleine Nete. Read more

The Hördt floodplain reserve retention area is part of the differentiated system of flood protection in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany.
