Flood Prevention for all: ALFA launches new service for journalists

Up-to-date moving images on flood-prevention measures, interviews, press material from international flood conferences and much more. Journalists can now find information on all aspects of flood prevention at www.journalisticservicedesk.eu

This new online media service enables journalists to easily access press releases, graphics and photos, material from international flood conferences, moving images on flood prevention measures and interviews. Experts from Germany, Europe and overseas also provide comments on methods for tackling problems, climate impact and essential measures regarding the contribution of the population towards flood prevention.

Margie de l’Etang, communication manager for the ALFA project explained; “With this new online service, we are proud of having developed a portal for journalists through which new and innovative ideas on flood prevention can be published – and in this way make a contribution to protecting as many people as possible in Europe. Because one thing is clear: extreme weather and heavy rainfall will in future lead to more frequent and serious floods. We must equip and protect our regions, towns and rural flood prone areas from these phenomena!"
